Maximum Cabinet Door Size

"Per AWI, 3.2.2 - Maximum cabinet door size shall be 24" in width and 84" in height. Larger doors are more susceptible to warp, which shall not be the responsibility of the manufacturer/installer."

Maximum and Minimum Cabinet Depth

"Per AWI, 14.5.1.2 - Minimum cabinet carcass depth shall be 22" deep, and maximum cabinet carcass depth shall be 30"."

Fixed Shelf Requirement at Tall Cabinets

AWI 3.3.3.3

"Per AWI, 3.3.3.3 - Cabinets over 72" in height, not immediately abutting a structural wall or another cabinet at both ends, shall have a 1" thick fixed shelf at approximate mid height."

Fixed Shelf Requirement at Wide Cabients

"Per AWI, 3.3.3.3 - Cabinets over 42" in width, require a 1" thick fixed shelf at approximate mid height."

Typical Cabinet Dimensions

Top Gap

1/4" between top of door/drawer front and top of cabinet carcass.

*At finger pulls only default to 1" gaps.

All Other Gaps

1/8" between door/drawer fronts.

Side Gaps

1/16" between door/drawer fronts.

Gap To Wall

3/4" between cabinet carcass and wall.

Back Rabbet

13/16" deep, leave 1/4" material around.

Side Gaps

Side Gaps
